An MA candidate in the Department of Political Science, Lina Nasr El Hag Ali completed an Honours Bachelor of Social Science at the University of Ottawa in Political Science and History.  Her research interests include border politics, citizenship constructs, the political alternatives of a multinational/transnational citizenship and the figure of the refugee. Her research attempts to address these issues by way of problematizing conventional notions of citizenship in the emergence of drone warfare. Lina is also an affiliate of the Centre for Refugee Studies at York, currently enrolled in the diploma program.

Stella has recently graduated from York University with a BA in Sociology and Human Rights and Equity Studies. Stella’s area of focus is on minority rights, with a particular interest on immigration settlement and immigrants transitions into Canadian life. Stella is an active member of the Center for Refugee Studies (CRS) at York University.
